ArchitectCES.com is pleased to be an American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Services (AIA/CES) provider. Our AIA approved programs are approximately one hour long and will earn one learning unit (1LU) credit upon successful completion.

All courses are FREE of charge if completed on ArchitectCES.com.

All courses on this site are approved by the AIA for distance education. You can take the courses at your convenience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year in three different formats. You have the option to take a course at your computer, to download a slideshow to view at your convenience or download a printable version of the course to read anywhere. We’re trying to make continuing education as accessible to you as possible. You can access the course from home, work or while on the road.

What is the Big Deal with LED Lighting? How Can LED Lighting Improve Projects I am Working on Today?

LED technology has rapidly garnered the attention and curisoty of lighting designers, builders and architects. This learning unit will provide you with an overview of the progression of LED technology, typical LED configurations and why LEDs are creating such a buzz in the architectural community.

You will be able to describe at least three benefits of using LED technology in architectural applications, such as reduced energy consumption, simple energy code compliance, how they improve the visual environment, among other benefits. You will be able to list several architectural applications for LEDs today. Finally, you will be introduced to potential LED failures and how you can prevent them through proper specification of LED fixtures.
